Submission Instructions/Information

  • Abstracts previously submitted to another conference may be submitted.
  • Published papers are not permitted.
  • Industry professionals are not permitted to present abstracts.
  • The final date for all submissions is October 4, 2018.
  • Submissions can only be made through the website. Any other method will not be considered. Please read the rules of submission before proceeding.
  • Should you encounter any difficulties, please do not hesitate to contact the Site Administrator via email at webmaster@sufuorg.com.

General Rules for all Submissions

  • The Scientific Committee will review all the submissions, and once complete, you will receive an email confirming whether your abstract was or was not accepted for presentation. If your abstract is accepted it will also include information about the type of presentation your abstract was selected for; podium presentation, moderated poster presentation or non-moderated poster presentation. Please note: complete submission information about acceptance into the program will be sent in a follow up email.
  • All submissions must be submitted and presented in clear English and spelling quality that is suitable for publication.
  • Upon submission, the Submitter confirms that the submission has been reviewed and that all information is correct. The content of the submission cannot be modified or corrected after final submission deadline and the author is aware that it will be considered and/or published exactly as submitted.
  • The submission constitutes acceptance from the authors regarding its publication (e.g. congress website, programs, other promotions, etc.).
  • The Submitter warrants and represents that he/she is the exclusive owner or has the rights of all the information and content (Hereafter: "Content") provided to Society of Urodynamics, Female Pelvic Medicine & Urogenital Reconstruction Meetings and Events (Hereafter: "The Organizers"). The publication of the submission does not infringe any third party rights including, but not limited to, intellectual property rights.
  • The organizers have the right to remove any submission which does not comply with the above.
  • Upon submission the Submitter confirms that the contact details saved in the system are those of the corresponding author, who will be notified about the status of the submission, and will be responsible for informing the other authors about the status.

General Guidelines for all Submissions

Before you begin, please prepare the following information:
  • Presenting author’s contact details
    • Title, full first and last name(s)
    • Affiliation details: department, institution / hospital, city, state (if relevant), country
    • Email address
    • Daytime phone number
    • Full address information
  • Author and co-authors’ details
    • Title, full first and last name(s)
    • Affiliation details: department, institution / hospital, city, state (if relevant), country
    • Email address

Rules for Abstract Submission

  • Abstract Title
    (limited to 25 words in UPPER CASE)
  • Abstract Body
    (limited to 360 words)
    Table(s), Graph(s) or Illustration(s): All tables/graphs/illustrations must be converted to an image. And a maximum of 1 image(s) can be included per abstract. The maximum file size of the image is 1.5 MB. The maximum pixel size of the image is 600(w) x 800(h) pixels. You may upload an image in JPG, BMP or PNG format only. For higher quality output we recommend your images be set at 300 dpi and crop out any unnecessary surrounding white space.
  • Abstract Layout
    Abstracts must use the following structured format:

Rules for Video/Movie Submission

  • You must submit your video details through the submission system using the Submission Type Selection for Video/Movie.
  • The video/movie should be saved to flash drives as a MPEG-4 (.mp4) file using Standard Definition resolution format.
    ✓ Please refer to the standard definition compression settings for YouTube or Vimeo for guidelines.
  • The length of the video/movie should be a maximum of 7 minutes.
  • Name of affiliated institute.
  • You MUST forward 2 flash drives, each with a single copy of your video/movie in MPEG-4 (.mp4) format to the SUFU Office by October 4, 2018.
  • Send copies to:

Prize Essay Competition Information

If you would like your abstract to be considered for an Essay prize, please read the instructions below.

All prize essay manuscript submissions must have a corresponding abstract submission. Once you have prepared your abstract, you can go to the abstract submission form, which provides details on how to submit your manuscript for the Prize Essay Competition.

A prize of $1,500 will be given at the discretion of the awards committee for the best submissions in BASIC RESEARCH and CLINICAL RESEARCH. Any topic relating to the physiology or pathophysiology of the genitourinary tract as it relates to urine transport, storage, and/or voiding is appropriate.

If you would like your research to be considered for one of the above awards, you must:

  • Eligibility: Submit an abstract to the SUFU Winter Meeting
  • Email your complete manuscript* by October 4, 2018 to: info@sufuorg.com
  • Subject Line must read like the following (be sure to include the reference number you receive after you complete your abstract submission):

  • A maximum word count of 2500 words will be allowed. Figures/Tables count as 250 words.

*Important note about your manuscript submission: All work must be original, primarily the work of the first author on the paper and unpublished. For review purposes, submitted papers should be in the publication format of the Journal of Neurourology and Urodynamics, including figures and tables. Winning papers are expected to be submitted for publication in the Journal of Neurourology and Urodynamics following announcement of the results of the essay contest.

Resident Travel Awards

Travel awards for the SUFU Winter Meeting will be available for Residents only. In order to qualify for the award the resident must:

  • Have an abstract accepted
  • Be the presenter of the paper
  • Check the appropriate box during the abstract submission process in order to be considered. Please note: if the check box is not checked you will not be considered for a Resident Travel Award.

There will be up to 10 awards of $1,000.00 available. The awards will be payable to a resident's institution after the meeting. The process of receiving an award is competitive!

SUFU Basic Science Meeting Awards

  • The top scored Basic Science Abstract Submissions will be selected for a Podium Presentation.
  • Several Awards for top ranked poster & podium presentations will be awarded. These will be awarded at the Winter Meeting.
